The southern continent of the America's

South America is the southern most continent of the America's. South America is bordered by North America to the North, Mexico being the border.

Three oceans virtually surround South America. They being the South Pacific to the West, the South Atlantic to the East and the Southern Ocean or to the South(see map of the planet). It has an area of 17.8 million sq kilometers or about 6.9 million sq miles. It is the 4th largest continent coming behind Asia, Africa and North America. It is the fith largest by population.
